Internet Australia, the peak body representing Internet users, has warned that consumers will be the big losers if the Government fails to deal with the implementation issues associated with the trouble plagued Data Retention Act. It has repeated its call for the legislation to be reviewed immediately, rather than after three years as is currently required.
Internet Australia CEO Laurie Patton today warned of what he called an Internet Tax once the real costs come to light and are passed on through increased Internet access fees.
